What do you do when you feel alone like no one cares?
I am tired of spending time alone. No one comes. No one even calls. You’d think someone would care enough to make an effort. But they don’t. I go about my days, but sadness and despair build up inside me. I don’t ask for much, just a friend or two to share my life with. It gets very lonely when no one else cares about me and my life. But, I will continue on and push through the feelings of loneliness. I must ignore the hurt and let it go. So, I put on my mask so others can’t see the hurt that is building inside.
I must get it together and not be down,
Put a smile on my face and remove the frown.

Have you ever felt this way? I have, and it’s a lonely place to be.
When I begin to slip into depression and I feel like no one cares about me, I always turn to the One that I know can lift me up—God. The Bible offers advice and encouragement for me when I feel like no one cares for me. God reminds me that He always cares for me, even when no one else cares.
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
—1 Peter 5:7
After I have reminded myself of God’s love and care for me, I am ready to step up and take some steps to overcome my depression. If no one is calling me, I call them—usually a friend or family member. Oftentimes I learn that it isn’t that they don’t care, but they are feeling just as lonely as I am. They also feel like no one cares.
Focusing on someone else helps me to get my mind off my loneliness. You see, we were meant to form a fellowship with others. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” God intended for us to be with others.
If you don’t have a friend to call, try visiting a nursing home. There are many lonely people just waiting to talk to someone. You will enter a nursing home feeling like no one cares but leave feeling overwhelmed with joy knowing that you helped someone else feel cared for and loved.
When you feel alone like no one cares, turn to the Bible for encouragement, then pick yourself up and find someone who cares. We are not meant to be alone. I always end up feeling better after I take the focus off me and turn it towards others.
